Financing Open Access
TIB supports authors in financing open access publications.
It has signed a number of publishing deals, covering more than 8,000 journals.
Should no contract exist between the TIB and your publisher, the TIB will - on application - cover your APC/BPC (article processing charges, book processing charges) or pay a subsidy.
As a special focus, we also support fair open access publishers and initiatives that work without APC or BPC.
Which of our offers is right for you depends on which organisation you belong to.
Open access agreements
The TIB has signed open access agreements with a number of publishers. Corresponding Authors from Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) and TIB submitting articles for publication in journals in these agreements will not be charged an open access fee. The TIB has paid the fee in advance.
Article processing charges (APC) in fully open access journals
If you are affiliated to the LUH and your chosen OA journal is not covered by one of the open access agreements, the LUH Fund may provide funding for your research article upon application.
Book processing charges for open access books
If you are a member of LUH and TIB please check our funding criteria for open access monographs and edited volumes.
Leibniz Association's Open Access Publishing Funds
Scientists affiliated to one of Leibniz Association's 97 research institutes benefit from the Leibniz Association's Open Access Publishing Funds covering both Article Processing Charges (APC) as well as Book Processing Charges (BPC).
