ONLINE COVER Interrogating Immune Hubs. The cover shows a primary human colorectal cancer specimen that was analyzed by multiplexed error-robust fluorescence in situ hybridization. The region depicted contains an antitumor immune hub, characterized by the presence of CXCR3 ligands (yellow) at the interface between malignant epithelial cells (dark blue) and tumor stroma (cyan). The CXCR3 ligands recruit CXCR3-expressing immune cells (red), including activated and exhausted T cells, regulatory T cells, and dendritic cells. This issue of Science Translational Medicine features a Focus article by Karin Pelka, the winner of the 2025 AAAS Martin and Rose Wachtel Cancer Research Award, which is given each year to a young scientist who has made important contributions to the field of cancer research.
