This graph highlights the percentage of OA research publications produced by some leading universities across the world from 2005 to 2023. It demonstrates the shift towards more accessible scientific knowledge across a diverse group of high-output institutions from Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia. While the average open access share in 2005 was around 30% for most countries, this figure has grown significantly, reaching above 70% for several institutions. In particular, European universities have seen the fastest acceleration, overtaking the U.S. institutions in 2013.
