Enable Git Staging
Git Staging is an alternative approach to IntelliJ IDEA Changelists.
You can use Find Actions which is ⌘⇧A (macOS) / Ctrl+Shift+A and then search for 'Git Staging' to enable Git Staging instead of IntelliJ IDEA Changelists.
