Memorandum to Federal Records Management Contacts: Update to File Formats Guidance for Born-digital Photography

I am pleased to announce that NARA has updated Appendix A: Table of File Formats of NARA Bulletin 2014-04, Format Guidance for the Transfer of Permanent Electronic Records. 

We have added the National Imagery Transmission Format (NITF) as an appropriate format for transfer of born-digital imagery products and image-related products. NITF is acceptable only for born-digital photography and should not be used for digitized photographs.
